To investigate the efficacy and safety of lollipop in relieving postoperative pain in infants. In this experiment, 42 infants aged 2 months to 3 years were studied by self control. Within 6 hours after returning from the operating room, the infants were given lollipop to lick and suck when crying. Pain score, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, onset time and duration of analgesia were recorded before and after lollipop licking. Results All the patients received at least two lollipop licking interventions, and the effective rate of relieving postoperative pain was more than 80%. The effect began 3 minutes later and lasted more than 1 hour. After the intervention, the pain score of the children decreased significantly, and the heart rate and blood oxygen saturation remained stable and were better than those before the intervention (all P<0.01). Conclusion: Licking lollipop can quickly, effectively and safely relieve postoperative pain in infants and young children. It is a convenient and inexpensive non drug analgesia method.
